Ferrari 312 PB Buenos Aires 1972
This version, obtained starting from a Piranha Model Kit, reproduces the car in the first place with Ronnie Peterson and Tim Shenken as crew. The model was totally modified in every
single part, counting a total of 287 particulars built “ex-novo” or added. The chassis was rebuilt in brass and the original engine
was completely readapted in the part relative to suspensions and steering links. Terminal parts of exhaust pipes are in turned
brass.
The battery was self-built and added. The cockpit was completely rebuilt starting from the dashboard, with relative
instruments and other internal components (junction box, extinguisher, gear stick, pedals..). Original under door panels
(in white metal) were milled and rebuilt in nickel 0,2 mm. The four door pivots were also made in brass with central micro-rivet.
Also rebuilt: lights, fuel cap, door inner radiators.
Rear chassis, holding lights, was made in brass and nickel, just
like the elliptical light supports and the radiator with relative pipes.
The roll bar consists of 8 soldered parts. Many
0,3 micro-rivets were added where necessary.
The windscreen, originally transparent, was repainted in azure as it was in
the real car. Wheels were provided with new hexagonal nuts and air valves.
